Great Escape 2 VietSub (Vietnamese Subtitles) is a popular South Korean entertainment television program featuring Kang Ho-dong, Kim Jong-min, Shindong, Yoo Byung-jae, Kim Dong-hyun, and PO.
Before each stage of the escape challenge, the members gather on a bus. Starting from the second challenge (third episode) of season 1, the program team assigns a team captain (주장) based on the members' performance in the previous challenge, and the captain receives a captain band. Before arriving at the location, the members wear blindfolds, and the staff guides them to the starting point in a large secret room. After following the staff's instructions, the members can remove their blindfolds. In each challenge, the members must use clues in the room to gradually explore the large secret room until all members escape from the location.
Each challenge has a different theme, and the members learn about the background story from the clues during the exploration process. In addition to searching for and deciphering clues, the members may need to interact with characters played by staff members (such as helping the characters, leading them to escape, etc.) before they can escape from the large secret room. There is no set time limit for each escape challenge; it only ends when all members and story characters (if any) successfully escape.
In Part 2, a major addition to the program is the possibility of not being able to escape. The recording process will end after it happens. Another added change is the possibility of actors being eliminated while attempting to escape, based on situations (e.g., "dying" or "going missing" during the challenge) and the production team's decision. The eliminated actors will leave the show. There is no longer a team captain assigned.
