King Of Mask Singer 2015 VietSub - A Unique Music Competition
King of Mask Singer (Hangul: 미스터리 음악쇼 복면가왕; Romaja: Miseuteori Eumaksyo Bokmyeon-gawang; translated as "Mystery Music Show: King of Mask Singer") is a popular music competition show in South Korea. It is hosted by Kim Sung-joo and narrated by voice actor Lee Won-joon. The show airs on MBC every Sunday at 16:50 (KST) and premiered on April 5, 2015, as part of MBC's Sunday Night lineup, replacing the show Animals. King of Mask Singer competes directly with Running Man (SBS) and The Return Of Superman (KBS2), airing at the same time on Sunday evenings.
Each competition consists of two episodes, where contestants compete against each other in a one-on-one format through three rounds. They wear masks designed by Hwang Jae-geun to conceal their identities, removing factors such as fame, career, and age that could influence voting based on singing abilities. In the first round, two contestants sing a duet, while in the second and third rounds, each contestant performs a solo. The winner of each matchup is determined by live voting from the audience and celebrity judges. The identity of the contestants is not revealed until they are eliminated. The winner of the third round continues to challenge the Mask King from previous episodes and either gets eliminated or becomes the next Mask King.
Ha Hyun-woo of Guckkasten ("Music Captain of Our Local") holds the record for the most consecutive wins with nine victories, the highest among all contestants. Son Seung-yeon ("The East Invincibility") holds the record for the most consecutive wins among female contestants with eight victories. Due to high demand, the show has released a special album featuring selected studio recordings of the contestants.
